This weekend brings another highly anticipated event to Denver’s doorstep. AudioCulture Brings the Bass - Get To Know OAKK Leading Up to Thursday's Show at Black Box w/ Exclusive Interview

Those who live in the Mile High City are presented with one of the country's largest arrays of nightlife options, on a nightly basis. So much so that Denver’s residents can often feel overwhelmed with so many choices or even become semi-jaded due to the consistent stream of the world’s supreme musical talent. On any given night, at least a few (probably most) of this city’s venues are hosting some producer you’ve heard of, some band you haven't heard of, maybe someone you’re tired of hearing of, but sometimes there’s a show that’s just too intriguing to miss. This Thursday is definitely one of the latter.

Are you ready? I don’t think you’re ready...in just two weeks Meow Wolf is hosting a one of a kind event right here in Denver. Dark Palace is being described as a dance obscura, where the music, art, 3-D visuals, and live performers are all blurred together to create an enveloping experience. Spanning over the course of three days, Dark Palace is set up in the same fashion as many music festivals. There is an amazing stack of lineups each day of the weekend and an impressive amount of artistic engineers.

A Quick Recap From Sonic Blossom 2019 At Cervantes Last Week!

The weekend before Halloween is always crawling with fun events, inviting creative ensembles and vibrant dispositions. Sonic Blossom was no exception and despite there being such a wide array of things to do, the venues were packed out! Jumping back and forth from The Ballroom to The Other Side, I was like a musical chameleon that molded it’s dance moves to the current beat. A smash from start to finish; there were so many acts to see and even with hours to kill, it wasn’t enough to catch em all. Some incredible performances were headed by The Librarian, Jamie Janover, SpoonBill, Bluetech and DynoHunter.

Get Weird With The Copper Children, Zimma, and More + Full Halloween Costume Contest @ Cervantes Masterpiece This Friday, Nov. 1st.

Denver has developed the reputation as a bit of a… party town. Throw in a party-heavy holiday like Halloween and this creative, progressive, and sometimes kinda strange town turns on an even bigger celebration. Chuck said Holiday in the middle of the week, like today, and you get what amounts to basically 7 full days (or more) of a Mile High, Halloween party. Last weekend brought it’s own share of spooktacular fun and celebration. Sonic Bloom celebrated it’s annual, mid-season mini-fest, Sonic Blossom at Cervantes. The Denver Nuggets opened the season with a win, and costume party of their own at NATIV Lounge & Hotel. Gramatik even came to town for two days of frightening fun that only the likes of Gramatik could provide, one day being a rare “Street Bangerz” set at Summit Music Hall and the other being an all at rage fest with Tom Morello (pun intended) Red Rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheater. More to come on all of that soon, but for now let’s look deeper into how you should spend your upcoming, Halloween weekend pt 2.

Grim Rising: Denver's Spooky Circus Has Us Flipping Out

October is one of the busiest months out of the year here in Denver, jam packed with spooky shows, Halloween events, haunted houses and mazes, apple picking, pumpkin carving, you name it. We have been constant about bringing you coverage of the best music and concerts around the city, but we also try to expand our horizons by sharing some off the grid affairs. Last week I dressed the part and headed to Apex Denver to attend their first ever Halloween showcase, Grim Rising. Circus Foundry is a brand new contemporary ensemble in Denver and they partnered with the APEX team to put on this interactive evening of food, fun and fright! This spooky circus ran for two weekends in October and was a family friendly event that was open to the public.
