Re:Visit - Shooka And Friends Got The Year Started Off Right!

In true Denver fashion, Euphonic Conceptions came out swinging with their first Re:Search after the holiday break, only it wasn’t on a Wednesday, and it didn’t feel like what we’ve come to expect from our favorite regular weekday night out. It was better. It was only the 2nd day of the New Year, but it had been over two weeks since EC’s community staple event. Preceding the last month or more, the team at Euphonic had been promoting more than just some minor changes to take place in 2020. On Jan 2nd we saw our first Re:Search Thursday, and albeit the day after New Years, Denverites were out and after it and eager to help headliner, Shooka, celebrate his birthday…

Re:Visit - Denver Blessed by Debut of Michal Menert Trio

Michal Menert is no stranger to the electronic music scene. He produced the debut album for Pretty Lights, Taking Up Your Precious Time, and was the first artist to be signed to the Pretty Lights Music label. This was back in 2006. Since then, he has flourished as a solo artist and formed offshoots like the Michal Menert Big Band as well as Michal Menert & the Pretty Fantastics. Now, he is unleashing his newest project unto the world: the Michal Menert Trio.

Re:Visit - EOTO Brings That Good Sound to Denver on Thanksgiving Eve

The Thanksgiving Eve edition of Re:Search Wednesday brought some heavy hitters -EOTO as the headliner with Borahm Lee (of Break Science / Pretty Lights Live) and Nicholas S. Gerlach on support. EOTO is an electronic duo consisting of Michael Travis and Jason Hann, formed in 2006 as a side project of The String Cheese Incident. Originally standing for “End of Time Observatory,” the project name is now pronounced Ee-Oh-Toe after some fans informed the duo that it meant “good sound” in Japanese. With a 100% improvised approach, EOTO has created a unique niche in the electronic community due to its jam-band roots.

Re:Visit - Sweater Beats, JackLNDN, & Movesayer

Showing up to Cervantes last Wednesday, we were all in store for the billed “night of emotional dance music” featuring killer instrumentals all throughout. Jordan Polovina blesses the stage each week as the host of Re:Search Wednesday, but this week he brought out his cello, which is always such a treat. Jordan truly started the dance party, transitioning back and forth so seamlessly that at one point he was creating new beats with his cello bow in his mouth. “This feels so good and we’re just halfway through!” We were all feeling it too. *See photos for proof*.

Re:Visit - Lucid Vision and Modern Measure, w/ Gravitrax

It’s always a treat whenever you get to see a double-headliner show and last Wednesday at Cervantes was nothing but delicious with Modern Measure and Lucid Vision.

The crowd was buzzing when Modern Measure stepped on stage, with their fusion of electronic production with perfectly paired live instrumentation.

Re:Visit - Cofresi, Vibe Street, and Kaptain plus A Few Words With Lucid Vision

Another night of dancing is in the books for weekly Re:Search Wednesdays at Cervantes. This week was none other than the drum-master himself, Cofresi. With local favorite, DJ Mikey Thunder providing the beats for those trickling in from the crisp November air and a lineup consisting of Vibe Street and Kaptain, I already knew it was going to be a special night of music…

Re:Visit - Bleep Bloop w/ Sayer, Little Snake, Secret Recipe | 10/30/2019 @ Cervantes Other Side

This past Re:Search was as much of a hair raising ritual anyone could have hoped for. Dark, glitchy, unconventional madness ruled the night, with each set sinking deeper into the void. Secret Recipe, Little Snake, Sayer, and Bleep Bloop conjoined to ring in All Hallow’s Eve at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom and left all in attendance zombified with purely scrambled brains.

Re:Visit - Casual Commander w/ Bailo, and Mikey Thunder, Plus Win Tickets For Mimosa!

It’s a beautiful thing when people come together for love of the same thing, something like music for example. This week at the Cervantes weekly installment of Re:Search Wednesday, provided the foundation for one of those moments. The bill was set with basically three completely different styles of music starting with the local favorite, Mikey Thunder, who if somehow you're unaware, is probably the most versatile DJ Denver has ever produced.

Re:Visit – DJ Logic, Animated Earth and Infinite Vibe. Jordan Polovina Interview Included!

It was Wednesday, my dudes, and hump-day felt cozier than ever at The Other Side of Cervantes. Re:Search’s own resident opener Jordan Polovina took the feature spot and stole the show with his new supergroup, Animated Earth. DJ Logic headlined and orchestrated a fine and refined DJ set accompanied by a healthy serving of horns and live drums. Infinite Vibe doubled down on percussion and wrapped it up tight, another one for the books.

RE:Visit - HUCCI, Great Dane, & More Plus Catch Up With AVRY Before Next Week

Some places just resonate familial interactions, where you can go time and time again knowing you will see friendly faces, as well as meet new people. Cervantes’ is that place for Denver locals, a safe space to hang out with like-minded individuals and hear good music on any given night of the week. Whether it’s the Masterpiece Ballroom or The Other Side, you can bet that there will be an artist or group that you would rather not miss. RE:Search Wednesdays are an exceptional night at Cervantes because the lineups always include local household names, as well as more prominent and recognizable artists. Many people that I’ve talked to during RE:Search nights come on a near-weekly basis even if they don’t know the artists because they can hang out, dance, enjoy the silent disco and more than likely leave with new artists to throw on their playlists.

Re:Visit - UltraSloth w/ 5AM & Thought Process

Once again, Re:Search Wednesdays at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom proved to be an oasis of cool in these dog days of summer. This week’s flavor included the tasty trio that is UltraSloth in the headlining slot, while 5 AM had us grooving early and Thought Process closed us out smooth.
