The PARTY People Live Up To Their Name With A Little Help From Some Friends

Twas the Friday before Christmas, when all through Your Mom’s House… the people wanted to let loose. There’s no question that this time of year can be stressful, but one of the best ways to handle the chaos of the holidays is by dancing it out. The people over at Boogie Groove Entertainment (and Potent Productions) knew that all too well, and they brought out a stellar lineup of funky artists that had the crowd grooving all night long.

Best Bass In The Biz - Audioculture Brought Some Winter Heat To The Black Box

Anticipating a great night, I headed out to the Black box to see B4lance open up the show. If you missed it, this artist was the #BassBattle winner two weeks ago and it was the bass that certainly won him the battle. I wanted to see if he was doing anything new with his set and see how excited he was. He was opening up for some big names like Badman, Digital D, and Phluxx. My stomach would have been in knots had I been him….

EFFN-OFF and Friends Brought Christmas to The Black Box, With a Little Help From Booze and Good Tunes

Holiday cheer is in the air this time of year and may very well be the only kind of contagion most of us want to catch. Good music abounds, bright lights are around every corner, and friends and family are able to come together to reminisce the year coming to an end, as well as celebrate the one in store. Last weekend, yuletide celebrations were in full swing and the EFFN-OFF show at The Black Box was no exception. Our good friends Evanoff headlined the evenings set, preceded by Swivler, Mag, and Xendolinguist. Nothing like an ugly sweater Christmas party and some intoxicating jammin to get your seasonal spirit soaring.

Denver's Second Bass Battle Shakes Up The Black Box - Who Came Out On Top?

I really enjoyed Audioculture’s "Bass Battle" at The Black Box in Denver last Thursday. The only bad part of the night happened before I even walked through the doors, as the parking was built for Denver in the early 1900’s. I guess “more buildings" not "more parking lots” was the motto back then. When I first got there, I knew this was going to be one hell of a show because as I got close to the door I felt the energy reverberate through my body…

The Shpongle Droid Tour Makes a Very Special Stop in Denver

“Wait, but I thought Shpongle played their last show ever?” This is the resounding question that plagued the internet since the Shpongle Droid tour was announced. To clarify, the two nights at Red Rocks this past May were the very last shows of the Shpongle Live full band - which was comprised of a dozen members. Shpongle itself is composed of Simon Posford and Raja Ram, and Simon frequently performs live DJ sets on his own. So this tour is exactly that - Simon Posford Live with a full studio setup of synths, drum machines, FX and mixing desk etc.
