Re:Visit - Mr. Bill Gates Closes Out The Last Re:Search Of 2019

The disco ball in the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom gleamed its light on many showgoers on a Wednesday night once again. Abelton software extraordinaire, Mr. Bill, along with Ill Gates, has formed a legendary duo named Mr. Bill Gates. To celebrate, they're playing a "Party Like It's Windows 95" Tour, initially scheduled in four states. Before stopping in for Denver’s final RE:Search Wednesday of the year, they kicked off the tour at Terminal West in Atlanta, Georgia.

For the Denver performance, artists Cryptochronica, Moonsplatta, Slowform, and BogTroTTeR owned the supporting roles, bringing a nearly packed house early on. Curtis Czock, also known as BogTroTTeR, is no stranger to the Colorado music scene. Some know him best for his performance at SONIC BLOOM and SONIC BLOOM Festival pre-parties. He rinsed in a set filled with deep, scratching, and marshy tones, moving the room with a unique sound while also setting the mood for the next few hours.

As BogTroTTeR’s set came to an end, Cervantes was filled adequately to the brim with devoted spectators. The main duo then waltzed out on stage, cool as ever. Alongside the stage, visuals were projecting on two separate screens. Live painters added a nice flair to the atmosphere, with dazzling pieces and bright colors to add to the vibe. The crowd was positively amped to hear what was in store for the next hour and a half now.

Once Mr. Bill Gates began, the previously promised Hennessey sound system instantly infiltrated the ballroom with bass so loud you could feel it in your chest. Transitions from each song blended superbly with the next. They incorporated tunes produced by Dirt Monkey, Peekaboo, and plenty more artists, along with their own tunes obviously, some even unreleased. During the performance, many faces revealed enamored expressions by the tracks they were hearing. It was safe to say, Cervantes reciprocated the same energetic liveliness the duo brought on stage.

Individually, these two are incredibly knowledgeable. They share an interest in teaching others how to learn the ways of producing as well. Both Ill Gates and Mr. Bill post workshops and tutorials on YouTube to help walk people through generating beats in Ableton and help them obtain specific techniques within a style they are interested in mastering. Along with instructing the ins and outs of producing, Mr. Bill hosts a weekly podcast, entertaining us with guests such as G-Space, Mersiv, VibeSquad, and other promentent members of the electronic music industry. At the beginning of December, Mr. Bill released a brand new EP called, IDM EP, containing songs with artists like Oolacile, G-Space, Woulg, and Funi.

Brian Gardner AKA Levitation Jones, closed out the night, wrapping up not just another Re:Search Wednesday in Denver but the last Re:Search of the year and one of the last Re:Search Wednesdays ever! Next year, the team at Euphonic Conceptions is moving Re:Search to Thursday nights where they will continue to host some of the most popular names in music and now also visuals. Android Jones is confirmed to perform his unique and noteworthy visual graphics at least one Re:Search Thursday per month for the foreseeable future. We'll have more to report on these changes very soon so stay tuned.

The "Party like it’s Windows 95" tour hit Colorado with a vengeance, leaving us wanting more. Through and through, Mr. Bill Gates created a tantalizing show that didn’t fall short of remarkable.
