When the Summer started, the Rooftop Concert Series by Potent Productions promised to provide Denver with some amazing music under the stars at one of Denver’s under-utilized rooftop/venue spaces. What we got was so much more. Aside from the unbelievable talent that’s been showcased, we’ve watched connections be made, witnessed beautiful ideas come to fruition, and viewed a community blossom. Through it all, it’s become clear that Potent Productions has no intentions of letting off the gas anytime soon.

Most recently, hometown favorites The Party People were featured as the much-deserved headline act. The supergroup is pretty much always guaranteed to get the party started, but Mikey Thunder, Mr. Bugati, and Benjamins Vibe (the trio that make-up The Party People) have all had the headline slot in their headlights and last Thursday, they showed why they deserve to be featured as the main-act more often.

Fresh off a noteworthy performance at Colorado’s famous, Sonic Bloom, the guys were eager to keep the momentum going. Benjamin's Vibe, or Benjamin Clark, even provided support for one of the previous rooftop parties as a supporting act. Along with the wizard known as Mikey Thunder who, basically came back from an indefinite vacation for the show, and the silent but deadly Bugati aka Mr. Bugati, Denver was set to find out exactly what makes these guys elite. And boy did we.

You had to be there to fully understand, but these photos do the night justice. What can we say, the three were in their zone. The rooftop came alive as they delivered a set beyond genres. It was artists doing what all artist dream of doing. It was pure raw talent, passion, and energy bringing together performer and audience alike for a night of love, artistry, community, and plain simply fun! You... were... missed!

Direct Support came by way of one of Denver’s hottest collective’s biggest names. The Dirty Gems of The Mile High Sound Movement took to the stage with their mix of hip-hop beats, smooth drops, and off-the-top vocal loops. Kruza Kid and Brisco Jones serve old school vinyl scratching with a side of psychedelic/electronic undertones. What you get is a tasty, unique sound that’s perfect for probably any party, anywhere.

Kaptain was the biggest question mark on the ticket. Sometimes the biggest question marks can be the biggest highlights. Kaptain, or Stephen Kaplan, provided exactly that, coming in for what was his first show as now a Denver resident. Kaplan moved to the mile-high city due to the overwhelming support of his music from the Denver area, and with a performance like the one he left us, we can only image we will be seeing plenty more from him. Set up behind his command center of instruments and electronics, Kaptain provides a familiar sound but in a new and fun way.

JusChill, one of Potent Productions newest addition to their label, got the evening started exactly like you’d hope he would, based on his name. With the sun still up, he put down some smooth and warm tunes, perfect for the environment around him. Those who arrived early were quickly entranced.

The first four of five events brought us some amazing music. Halfway To Mars, Prince Fox, BARDZ, Telemetry, and CAPYAC, are just a few of the long list of artists we’ve seen on Jacksons Rooftop so far. If you’ve missed these events, don't worry! The Potent squad has one more final event lined up for you at Jacksons for the Summer. Just announced, catch the return of Vibe Street on Aug 15th for a welcome home party AND birthday celebration!

Special guests are all still to be announced so stay tuned! Tickets can already be purchased for that event right here!
