Templo Releases Mind-Bending Music Video For New Track; “QUENCH” - [Press Release]

A week following the release of his first album in eight years, Turbo Digital, comes Templo’s next message to the world in the form of a music video. Digital artist OBSIDIANULTRA created a music video to visually pair with Templo’s song “Quench,” the fourth track on Turbo Digital

The video tells a story of an unsuspecting human who finds a suspicious liquid in a burning hole in the ground, reminiscent of something that has just fallen from the sky. The human consumes the liquid and is taken on an immediate journey into a world of artificial intelligence and glitch visualization. One of the digitally-rendered characters that appears throughout the video is also featured as the centerpiece in the artwork of the Turbo Digital album.

The “Quench” music video pushes the capabilities of artificial intelligence, featuring glimpses of humanoid-like figures created by combining thousands of images together to form what the computer “thinks” a human should look like. The epic concludes with the main character torn between the digital and analog world, eventually decomposing into a skeletal form.

Visuals from this piece are reminiscent of what one might see as live visuals during a Templo show. During a time where live music is missed by so many, this video serves up nostalgia for those who are craving mind-melting visuals at a concert.

“When Liam showed me ‘Quench’ for the first time, I instantly knew this was the perfect track for my first true attempt at making a music video. Words can’t express the level of appreciation I have for the trust and creative liberty he placed in me throughout this project.” - OBSIDIANULTRA

The track “Quench” is the fourth song off of Templo’s new album Turbo Digital, which released on Friday, February 19th, 2021. The album features eight tracks in the 75-125 BPM range and also has an appearance by rapper Pretty Bobby on the first track of the album, “Nine Lives.”

I’ve known Keen [OBSIDIANULTRA] since I was five years old. Anytime we sit down to create something together, it’s always going to be some super weird stuff. I couldn’t be more pumped on how the ‘Quench’ video came out and there is so much more on the way.
