Eight months since the pandemic began and our beloved music industry came to a screeching halt. EIGHT. MONTHS. Understandably, many are going a bit stir-crazy without the vibes, connection, and musicality that comes with seeing a live show. And let’s not forget to mention how much artists, venues, and industry workers are suffering without any means to make an income. During the recent summer months, many fans were able to substitute music with more nature and time outdoors or even a cold beer on a patio nearby. But with winter here and covid numbers soaring larger than ever, some brands and noteworthy names are doubling down on internet livestream events which showed so much promise earlier this spring. One name you’re almost certain to recognize, is ARISE, which has moved to a new format in efforts to keep us entertained during these potentially tough next few months. For that, we thank them!

“ARISE Online”, as the fan-favorite, Colorado festival brand is now known, has been involved with streaming content basically since the beginning of the pandemic. Initially, the name was a primary sponsoring body for the pioneers at Rocky Mountain Virtual. RMV is a weekly Friday stream that developed tens of thousands of fans and hundreds of thousands of views within only a couple months of the start of the initial lock down, thanks to Founders Sarah Shuel and Alyssa Montano. Shuel, Montano, and the RMV brand are still working closely with the folks at ARISE as they move into this new format.

So what is the new format, you ask? Similar to the RMV weekly Friday stream, ARISE Online is bringing your favorite bands and music right to the comfort of your own home. No, it’s not the way we’d prefer to be seeing live music right now, but it’s 100% better than nothing and many believe there’s a place for this type of content even once actual live music returns. Unlike RMV, the new ARISE format will focus on well-known bands & artists being recorded and produced at a very high level from a new and unique professional environment, as opposed to an entire days worth of content from many different artists often self-recorded from the artists own home. Marketing Director, Shannon Bock, told us, “Being a festival, we want to give people a great experience through contemporary, hip, concert-quality music and art. ARISE Online may seem different, even a little unusual, but we envision it will also remind us that we are here together, for each other, watching quality concerts together, dancing together, loving together, and supporting our community together.” On top of the higher level of production, each new release also comes to viewers with an exclusive interview and even chances to digitally meet/hang with the featured artist(s). Perhaps, the biggest change for viewers now comes in the form of a price tag, albeit small, a price tag nonetheless. But hey, you’re already blowing a cringeworthy amount on food delivery apps so what’s another $10 for some quality in-home entertainment with some of your favorites bands? Another important note about the entry cost is that a portion of all proceeds will go to benefit the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, grants you access to live chat within the stream, and will continue allowing you to access the content for an entire 30 days after airing.

We’ve already seen some quality performances with this new ARISE Online format, from equally quality names like Magic Beans and Spectacle. But it was their next act that really got us pumped up. Get ready for some Melody Lines! Consisting of power-house duo Vinny Crippen (guitar, synths, keys) and Nick Hadden (drums), you could say Melody Lines was truly finding their next gear as a band when Covid landed here in the U.S.. Thankfully, the stoppage of live performances hasn’t even come close to stopping these two from producing a next level of their music.

Melody Lines front-man, Vinny Crippen, had this to say about the upcoming stream; “We’re honored to be working with Arise for this live stream. They’ve been known for working with world class artists so it means a lot they chose us as part of their online series. 2020 has been a tough year for everyone especially musicians and we’re [Melody Lines] no exception. Before the pandemic hit, building our live show and performances was our main objective so this virtual concert provides the opportunity for us to bring our fans some of the new stuff we’ve been working on.”

To add to the excitement, they invited friend and bass guitarist, Jeff Barlow of Telemetry, to join them for this unique performance.

Shot and recorded at Colorado Sound Studios, Crippen also felt inclined to mention the “top-tier reputation” of the studio. He added, “The list of artists that have recorded there is long and impressive so it’s crazy to be able to record at a studio that has recorded some of the greatest artists in the industry.” Their complete set will air for your viewing pleasure on December 3rd, 2020.
